Non-stick now on every container ensuring waste and contamination for all who use them.

Cake tins, jelly molds, bread dough holders,  oven trays and pots all being doused in non-stick thus ensuring, as they deteriorate a good spread of breakdown products of PTFE in all the food cooked cooked in them. In the past cake tins were just that, 'tin plate' and when that tin plating wore off steel was left and worked perfectly well.
Again the industrialist making non-stick ware are generating work for themselves replacing them.
The energy costs of all this must be staggering and of course this means a higher carbon imprint than ever before, by way of production but also in the kitchen itself because of the extra heat required to do the job of heating the food through the non-stick coating.
Evidence exists that non-stick on thin gauge metal is a poor investment and yet, especially in cut price outlets, they are selling such by the crate full. Recycling them when they are thrown out is another story.
